Obituary for Aubrey Alexander Sr.

Aubrey  Alexander Sr.
Aubrey S. Alexander, Sr., 63, passed away at the Maine General Medical Center on the afternoon of April 12, 2012 with his family by his side. Born on August 16th 1948 in Brunswick, he was the son Floyd and Elsie (Cotton) Alexander.

Aubrey grew up in Brunswick and attended local schools there. He entered the U.S. Army at the age of 17 and served for three years. After his discharge from the Army, he lived in Bath for many years.

He enjoyed listening to music, watching Jeopardy and was a great storyteller. He was also a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Wiscasset.

Besides his father, he was predeceased by two siblings; Billy and Lorianne.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Alexander, whom he married on April 13, 1971; his mother Elsie; son, Aubrey Alexander, Jr.; 4 stepchildren, Jacqueline McDaniel, Charles Brooks, Keith Brooks and Michele Brooks; 7 siblings, Marsha, Lloyd, Brian, Floyd, Jimmy, Gloria and Roger; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be from 11am-12pm on Monday, April 16th at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main Street, Damariscotta, ME. A funeral will follow at 12 noon, also at the funeral home.
